I'm not generally a big fan of Dodge/Chrysler products. And I'm allowed to say this because I actually bought one, brand new, in 1998 and got rid of it within 10,000 miles because it pretty much sucked.
But last week someone hit Hayley's car in the parking lot at work and yesterday we dropped it off at the shop to have it fixed. No problem. The other guy's insurance paid for Hayley to get rental while this was taking place. This is what the rental company gave her:
A 2007 Dodge RAM 2500 QuadCab 4x4 pickup truck. Bright red. Seriously. I mean, it cost us $14 in gas just to start it up. In fact, you're wasting gas just looking at this picture. Hurry, read faster! And it makes my full size F-150 Extracab 4x4 Off Road monstrosity look like a Miata and conserve fuel like a Hybrid! Hayley needed a ladder to get into it. Ridiculous.
So then after many phone calls during the day with the rental car company we finally find out that they have a replacement vehicle for her. So I go and pick up the truck, take it over and swap it out for a brand new 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. I think I broke the shifter in this thing by using it. It feels like the whole van is made of paper or cardboard. I'd hate to be in an accident in this vehicle. Luckily we get our Odyssey back tonight or tomorrow morning. Yay!
But let's get back to the title of this post. "What were the Dodge people thinking" when they designed their new keys? This freaking thing looks and feels like a hand grenade! The first thing you see when you pick it up (with two hands) is a BIG RED BUTTON that says "PANIC" on it! WTF? You really can't make this stuff up sometimes.

Gettin our money's worth
Well the water temperature is still only a paltry 75 degrees, so in order to gain some more life out of the pool season, I got a wetsuit for myself and for Sam. As you can see Hayley decided to wear it today (and now it seems she needs one too). Also apparent is that Sam has not forgotten how to swim.
Aaaiiieee! My leg, my leg! (This one reminds of a funhouse-mirror type of image.)
